You might be looking for a South Asian Therapist who can support you with the intersection of mental health, parental/family expectations, cultural norms, societal pressures, and more.

You may be struggling in your relationships with your parents, family, partner, in-laws, or other important people in your life in terms of managing feelings of anxiety, guilt, and shame that may come up when dealing with high expectations and pressure to meet everyone's needs - least of all your own.
People pleasing in your relationships, feeling overwhelmed by family obligations, having difficulty setting boundaries, perfectionism at school and work, figuring out your identity between cultures (Western vs. Eastern values - or some combination of the two), struggling to build independence and your own personal identity, and not feeling confident in your decisions might be some of the challenges you are going through.
You might also experience anxiety around life changes or you could feel guilty for doing what is best for you in your school, career, relationships, and other personal life choices if it isn't supported, valued, or understood by others in your life.

Getting comfortable speaking up about your needs, feeling more certain of your choices, and managing expectations from others so that you can live your life based on your own values, needs, and priorities within the context of your responsibilities and commitments might be areas you want to work on together in therapy.
